Motivate Yourself and Others

Yes you can become successful and yes you can reach your someday. It takes patience, persistence, and the tenacity to move obstacles out of your way. Youíll still have some mountains to climb, but youíll have the inner strength to climb them.

Yes, life is hard and life is not fair. But no matter what hand life deals you, play it. If life deals you a lemon, make lemonade. I have known good times and I have known hard times. But I have learned that if you focus on the good times rather than focusing on the hard times you will find that you have a lot of blessings a lot of things for which to be thankful.

Sometimes we have to go through hard times to appreciate the good times. Stop dragging around past baggage. Free yourself from the past. Know when itís time to let go. Each of us has a past and our past is behind us, where it should be. Get it from in front so you can get on with your life. Look inside yourself for your motivation. Donít let your past and the baggage it brings prevent you from reaching your "someday." A lot of times we keep doing the same old things, expecting different results. But if you keep doing the same thing the same way you will get the same results.

I was abused as a child. That alone should explain why I shouldnít be a success in life. An abusive childhood is a heavy burden to carry on your shoulder all your life. But I learned early on that I am the only person who is responsible for my actions just as you are responsible for yours. I chose not to be a product of my past but to be a product of my choosing. It takes time, it takes effort, it takes planning, it takes patience, it takes faith, it takes hard work, it takes risks, it takes self-confidence, it takes skills, and it takes perseverance.

Learn from your mistakes. Donít let anyone take away your self-esteem or diminish your self-confidence. People may tell you that youíre too old for certain positions, too old for certain tasks, too old to start a business, too old to go back to school. Tell those people, "The older the wine, the greater the kick." Growing old is no more than a bad habit which a busy woman has no time to form.

You decide whatís too old. How you live your life is your decision. You are the only person who can stand in judgment of your own actions and your own behaviors. You should be the only one making decisions about how your life should be lived. If one looks at my background and sees the mistakes Iíve made in life, the many potholes Iíve stepped in throughout life, and compare my past to theirs, Iím sure there will be many similarities. You canít change the past, but you can learn from it.

Forget yesterday, itís gone. You canít change what happened, yesterday. You canít undo yesterday. Begin fresh today. Begin tomorrow with lessons learned from yesterdayís mistakes. Yesterday is a canceled check, Tomorrow is a promissory note, today is cash. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift from God, thatís why itís called the present. You have your own story just as I have mine. Take my tips, develop them, take from them what you will and design your own picture of success. I hope that by sharing my story you are motivated to make your plans, set your goals, follow your dreams, and realize your "someday" begins right now.

If I could leave a legacy to my family, to women, and to you dear reader, it would convey this message: THIS IS YOUR LIFE, LIVE IT. THIS IS YOUR WORLD, BUILD IT, THIS IS YOUR TIME, TAKE IT, THIS IS YOUR FUTURE, CREATE IT. YOU ARE THE LEADERS, LEAD. SUCCESS IS BY DESIGN BEHOLD THE MIGHTY OAK TREE, A LITTLE NUT THAT STOOD ITS GROUND.
